You can have a single guppy in a three gallon tank if it has a decent filter on it. If you want to breed them I would do a 20 or 30 gal.

Technically you could probably keep one in a 5gal, with a handful of shrimp, but a 10gal would be better.

SOME people have said a gallon per fish but i would do 2 gallons a fish…. People who have huge tanks would think you would need more but eh….. 5 fancy guppies in a 10 gallon is not too much but breeding you would definitely need a bigger tank obviously

its one inch of a full grown fish is one gallon. so like a guppie is usually bout an inch, so it would be one gallon for one guppie. but guppies are community fish, so i would suggest getting more. for breeding, if you decide to breed one guppie, and one pod of babies, youd need a 10 gallon. for 2 pregnant fishies, youll need 20 gallon, and so on:)

you will need at least a 6 gallon tank, preferably 10 then you can keep 6 – 8 if you want to breed them then you need a 25-30 gallon tank, id get two tanks so you can separate them as they breed like rabbits. If you intend to sell them, don’t expect to get much if anything for them, they are worth fractions of pence each.
the one inch per gallon rule does not work!!!!
just use common sense, you know how big the particular fish will get, and you can see how big your tank is, so you can easily go by how much room there is. (assuming you have some common sense)
lastly either shrimp or corydoras, i prefer corydoras but its down to you

With guppies you need 1 male for every 3 females so the male doesn’t attack the females. I would say at the least 10 gallons. With 20 being much better for breeding. I would only get 1 male and three females.
