Question by Janelle W: Exists a difference in between sambuca and romana sambuca?
I bought some Romana Sambuca, unintentionally, for a drink recipe that asked for Sambuca. The description I read stated it was rather sweet, however it isn’t in any sense of the word. Online, I read that it needs to taste like anise, and that romana is specifically licorice. Any assistance ??

sambuca ‘romana’ is the name for the initial and finest sambuca. anise, anisette, and licorice are all the same taste. (it’s not the like twizzler licorice) all sambuca tastes the same. romana is the trademark name. it is available in clear and black.
